Founded in 1919 by Mr. Gottlob Bauknecht near Stuttgart, Germany, ATB is a combination of the German drivetechnology (Antriebstechnik) and the initials of the founder's surname (Bauknecht) . At the beginning of the 21st century, ATB had grown into the third largest motor manufacturing and sales group in Europe and it is one of the world's leading suppliers of industrial and household electric drive systems.
